Dr. Dabber Switch GO Overview

Dr. Dabber Switch GO: Modern Portable Erig

Dr. Dabber makes some of the best rigs around. They’re known for their desktop units, but those are a little tricky to travel with. Now they have released the Dr. Dabber Switch GO.

This device is more compact and travels well, and is atomizer-free. This reduces the unit’s size and removes the need for atomizer replacements. It is a portable erig that gives you smooth, thick vapor like a desktop unit.

We will look into the Dr. Dabber Switch GO’s features, how it works, and our thoughts after trying it out.

What is the Dr. Dabber Switch GO?

Most erigs use atomizers to heat the concentrate you put inside. These usually need replacement every 1-3 months, depending on usage. The Dr. Dabber Switch GO uses a heating cup instead of an atomizer.

Using their Omni-Heat technology, the chamber heats from both sides and the bottom. This keeps the temperature steady throughout the cup and protects the flavor. There is a smart sensor inside the heating cup that measures the temperature in real time. It will adjust the power while inhaling to provide smooth smoke with every hit.

Reviewing The Dr. Dabber Switch GO

We tested the Switch GO with many sessions to get an idea for daily users. Below are our thoughts on how it performs.

Vapor and Flavor

The vapor path only touches clean glass and quartz, which helps keep the flavor clean. With a lower heat setting, you can taste the terpenes more and get a smoother hit. On a higher setting, you get less flavor but thicker clouds. The bubbler does a great job of cooling and filtering the vapor. Even if you use a high heat setting, it will not feel too harsh.

Battery and Charging

You can get up to 20 heat cycles per charge. If you are a heavy user who likes high heat and longer sessions, you will get fewer cycles. The battery will drain fast. We got about 10-12 dabs per charge with high heat. The device charges with a USB-C cable, and it has pass-through charging. You can use the unit while plugged in. It takes about 1 hour to charge the battery to 100%.

Best Features

1.) No Atomizer

With most erigs, the atomizer needs replacement due to wear and tear. This causes an extra expense, but the Dr. Dabber Switch GO removes this cost. The concentrate sits inside the quartz cup, which is in a titanium well. The concentrate never touches the electric parts, which saves you time and money.

2.) Strong Glass Bubbler

It’s always nerve-wracking carrying glass units on the go. However, Dr. Dabber has placed the glass bubbler inside an alloy body. This keeps the glass safe from accidental breaks while traveling. You can load your concentrates without actually taking out the glass.

3.) Airflow Control

The Dr. Dabber Switch GO has a stainless steel joystick carb cap. There is a long tip that reaches the quartz cup. This lets you push the airflow around to vaporize the material. The air holes are under the rim. Your fingers don’t block the airflow while holding the unit. This tends to happen with some other devices.

4.) App Features

The Dr. Dabber Switch GO has 5 heat settings, which you can change with a click. Each setting matches a colored light.

Heat Setting Temperature
Purple 400°F
Blue 440°F
Cyan 480°F
Orange 500°F
White 540°F

To set precise temperatures, connect the Switch GO to the Dr. Dabber web app. You can adjust the heat from 250°F to 650°F. The app also lets you use special modes

  • Descent Mode: Start with high heat for a big cloud, then cools to save flavor.

  • Ascent Mode: Starts cold, then gets hotter to clear the contents in the cup.

  • Steady Mode: Locks in the temperature. You choose for the entire hit, and it does not change the temperature from what you enter.

Is the Dr. Dabber Switch Worth It?

Looking for a modern, portable device with desktop-level vapor? Then the Dr. Dabber Switch GO is an excellent choice. It is strong, easy to clean, and doesn’t need replacement parts. It is low maintenance and performs. It’s well thought out, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a new dab rig.
