The Puffco Proxy Core Kit is one of our strongest travel recommendations and one of the better-selling portable concentrate setups we carry. The CARTA Sport and New Proxy are better fits. Both let you go beyond fixed presets, but they approach portability very differently: CARTA Sport is a water-filtered e-rig, while Proxy is a modular platform.
The Dr Dabber Switch 2 is the premium choice in this group. Induction heating and a larger format make it better suited to shoppers building a serious home setup.
Consider the Switch GO or CARTA Sport. Both are easier to move than a full-size home rig while retaining more control and glass than most pocket-class devices.
The Ispire Daab is the outlier worth comparing. Its wide stated temperature range, induction system and glass-focused airpath appeal to buyers who prefer a more traditional glass feel without torch heating.
The biggest difference between e-rigs is not the number of lights on the base. It is how the device heats the chamber or insert. Modern 3D-style chambers heat around the bowl walls, induction systems heat a removable insert without a traditional exposed coil, and simpler ceramic or quartz cups keep cost down. None is automatically “best” for every buyer; the right choice depends on price, control, cleaning and the kind of device you want to own.
Some e-rigs use three or four presets. Others offer a wider temperature range or app-based custom profiles. If you normally use one setting, paying extra for deep customization may not add much value. If you like dialing in different sessions, it can be worth it.
Most classic e-rigs use a glass water attachment. Devices such as the Proxy are different: the heating core can move between compatible pieces, and the standard pipe is used dry. Decide whether you want one complete water-filtered appliance or a core that can change form.
Compare more than the advertised session count. USB-C, pass-through use, charge time and how you use higher heat settings all affect the experience. Manufacturer battery ratings are useful for comparison, but they are not a guarantee of identical real-world results.
A low purchase price is only part of value. Before buying, check the cost and availability of replacement chambers, inserts, glass, caps and other wear parts. A rig that is easy to maintain and easy to find parts for can be the better deal over time.
A traditional glass rig uses an external heat source, usually a torch, to heat the nail or banger. An electric dab rig puts the heater, battery and temperature control into the device, so you do not need to torch the nail manually. The trade-off is that an e-rig adds electronics, charging and replacement components that a simple glass rig does not have.

Discounted authentic devices exist. What matters is whether the exact model is real, the seller has a verifiable business presence, the warranty path is clear and replacement parts actually exist. This is especially important when a marketplace listing uses a model name that is almost — but not exactly — the same as a known Puffco, Focus V or Dr Dabber product.
