How We Compared These E-Rigs
We want to be upfront about how this list was made, because a lot of “best e-rig” lists online are not.
- Our own sales data. We looked at which e-rigs our customers bought most over the last six months. We share the ranking, not unit counts.
- Manufacturer specs, checked at the source. Every temperature range, heat-up time and battery figure below comes from the brand's own product page, not from other retailers. Battery numbers are the brands' ratings; real-world results vary with temperature and session length.
- Our support experience. Where Jacob has a first-hand view on reliability or what customers run into, we say so and attribute it to him.
- Live prices. Prices come straight from our store, so the value comparison stays current.
What we did not do: we did not run lab tests or score devices out of 10. A number like “8.6/10” implies a test we did not do, so each pick gets an award for the job it does best instead.
Best Electric Dab Rig Reviews: Our Top 9 Picks
Best Overall
1. Focus V CARTA Sport
Price: $178.95 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: most people who want one reliable e-rig for daily use
- Intelli-Core atomizer with a removable CARTA CONNECT airpath
- Focus V rates it at 50+ dabs per charge
- Bluetooth app control for presets, session timers and lighting, plus one-button use without the phone
Why it made the list: Jacob's pick for the most reliable e-rig for the money, and our #2 best-selling e-rig over the last six months. In his words, you get reliability and consistency session after session at a great price. The swappable CARTA CONNECT airpath also makes reclaim and cleaning much less of a chore than on most e-rigs.
Trade-off: Atomizers are a running cost on any atomizer-based rig. Plan on a replacement Intelli-Core eventually; it is one of our best-selling parts.
Most Popular
2. Puffco New Peak
Price: $216.95 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: first-time e-rig buyers who want simple, water-filtered dabs
- 3D Chamber with Joystick Cap
- Four heat settings with real-time temperature control
- Puffco rates it at up to 35 dabs per charge; USB-C charging
Why it made the list: Our #1 best-selling e-rig over the last six months. Load, click and dab, with no app or setup to learn first.
Trade-off: No Bluetooth, so no app customization. If you want custom temperatures, step up to the Peak Pro 3DXL.
Best Premium / App Control
3. Puffco New Peak Pro 3DXL
Price: $385.95 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: experienced dabbers who want to fine-tune every session
- 3DXL Chamber, Puffco's largest chamber
- Four heat profiles you can customize in the Puffco Connect app
- About 20-second heat-up; Puffco rates it at roughly 30 dabs per charge on average
- USB-C, and compatible with Puffco's wireless charging base (sold separately)
Why it made the list: A top-five e-rig in our sales and the natural step up from the New Peak: a bigger chamber, faster heat-up and full app control.
Trade-off: It costs considerably more than the regular New Peak. If you will never open the app, the extra spend is harder to justify.
Best Under $50
4. XMAX QOMO
Price: $45.99 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: trying an e-rig without spending much
- Three heat settings and a ceramic chamber
- Mini glass water bubbler
- About a 10-second preheat; USB-C charging
Why it made the list: Our #3 best-selling e-rig and by far our best seller at its price. City Vaporizer is an authorized XMAX retailer, and replacement QOMO atomizers are in stock.
Trade-off: Micro size means a small chamber and a small water path. Expect simple sessions, not premium-rig flavor.
Best Under $100
5. Dr. Dabber Ghost 2
Price: $97.95 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: a pocket-size device from a major brand on a budget
- Five temperature settings from 420°F to 540°F
- Ascent, Descent and Steady heating modes
- Dr. Dabber lists a 5 to 10 second heat-up and up to 20 heating cycles per charge
- USB-C pass-through charging
Why it made the list: One of our top sellers under $100. Strictly speaking it is a portable concentrate vaporizer, not a water rig, which is why it is so small.
Trade-off: No water filtration in the standard setup, so hits are warmer than a bubbler-style e-rig.
Best Glass-Free for Travel
6. Puffco Proxy Core Kit
Price: $207.95 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: travel and anyone tired of breaking glass
- Glass-free: silicone mouthpiece, ceramic chamber and pearls, aluminum cup
- 3D Chamber; temperature and session settings in the Puffco Connect app
- Puffco rates it at up to 15 dabs per charge; fast USB-C charging
Why it made the list: Our #4 best-selling e-rig over the last six months. With no glass to break, it is the one we suggest when the rig has to survive a bag.
Trade-off: Dry hits only out of the box. Water filtration means adding a compatible Proxy glass piece.
Best for Home Sessions
7. Dr Dabber Switch 2
Price: $338.99 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: heavy home use where performance matters more than size
- Induction heating with a 20mm quartz insert, so there is no atomizer to burn out
- Infrared temperature sensor; 250°F to 650°F range and three dynamic heating modes
- Dr. Dabber lists 5 to 20 seconds heat-up and up to 30 heating cycles per charge
- App control; USB-C pass-through charging
Why it made the list: The pick for buyers who want to stop replacing atomizers. The quartz insert is designed to last far longer than a coil.
Trade-off: About 9 inches tall and 1.6 lb, and the most expensive rig on this list. It is a home rig, not a pocket rig.
Best Compact Quartz Rig
8. Dr Dabber XS
Price: $106.21 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: a small water rig with simple controls
- Quartz eChamber
- Four temperature settings from 475°F to 625°F
- Dr. Dabber lists a 9 to 12 second heat-up and up to 35 heating cycles per charge
- Spill-proof glass
Why it made the list: A steady seller for customers who want water filtration in a travel size without an app.
Trade-off: No app and no custom temperatures; you choose from four presets.
Best On the Go
9. Focus V AERIS
Price: $159.95 Price checked October 12, 2026
Best for: portability without giving up a full-size atomizer
- Focus V lists a 365°F to 600°F range with customizable presets
- Swappable battery, so you can carry a spare
- Focus V rates it at about 12 to 15 sessions per charge
- Optional bubbler adds water filtration
Why it made the list: Jacob's pick for on the go: very portable, a great form factor and super reliable, like all Focus V products. In his experience, Focus V devices come back for service far less often than most other brands we sell.
Trade-off: Fewer sessions per charge than the CARTA Sport, which is the price of the smaller body.
Also Worth a Look
- Dr Dabber Switch GO ($299.95): the Switch 2 induction experience in a smaller body (up to 20 heating cycles per charge).
- Puffco New Proxy ($207.95): a modular Puffco you can build out with different pieces over time.
- Pop Hit HOLA330 ($64.00): six color-coded temperatures and a water bubbler on a budget.

How to Choose the Best Electric Dab Rig for You
Start with where you will use it
If it mostly lives on a table at home, size does not matter and you can buy for performance: the Switch 2, Peak Pro 3DXL or CARTA Sport. If it goes in a bag, look at the Proxy Core Kit, AERIS, XS or Ghost 2. Water filtration makes hits smoother, but glass is also the part that breaks.
Count the cost of ownership, not just the sticker price
Most e-rigs heat with a replaceable atomizer or chamber, and those wear out with use. Replacement atomizers for the CARTA line are among the best-selling parts in our store, which tells you how often owners buy them. Induction rigs like the Switch 2 and Switch GO use a quartz insert instead, so there is no coil to burn out. If you dab every day, that difference adds up.
Decide if you want an app
App control (CARTA Sport, Peak Pro 3DXL, Proxy, Switch 2) lets you set exact temperatures and session times. If you just want to click and dab, a preset rig like the New Peak or XS is simpler and there is nothing to set up.
On a budget, start small
An e-rig under $100 is a low-risk way to find out if you like dabbing this way. The QOMO and Ghost 2 are our most popular starting points. You can see every option, including current deals, in our electric dab rig shop.
Electric Dab Rig FAQ
What is the best electric dab rig for most people?
For most people we recommend the Focus V CARTA Sport. It is Jacob's pick for reliability and value and one of our two best-selling e-rigs. If you want the simplest possible setup with no app, the Puffco New Peak is our most popular e-rig.
What is the best e-rig for beginners?
The Puffco New Peak. It has four heat settings, no app to learn and a water-filtered glass top. On a tighter budget, the XMAX QOMO is our best seller under $50.
Puffco New Peak or Focus V CARTA Sport?
Both are top sellers for us. The New Peak is simpler and has no app. The CARTA Sport adds app control, a higher brand-rated dabs-per-charge figure and a removable airpath that makes cleaning easier.
Do electric dab rigs need replacement parts?
Most do. Atomizer-based rigs like the CARTA Sport, AERIS and Puffco models eventually need a new atomizer or chamber. Induction rigs like the Dr Dabber Switch 2 use a quartz insert instead of a coil.
Is an e-rig better than a dab pen?
An e-rig usually gives bigger, smoother hits thanks to a larger chamber and water filtration. A dab pen or portable like the Ghost 2 is smaller and more discreet. Many customers own one of each.
Where can I compare prices on all electric dab rigs?
Our electric dab rig shop lists every e-rig we carry with live prices, including models not featured in this guide.
