Best for: Anyone who wants the nicest-feeling, smoothest cart vaporizer and is happy to pay a little more
The ARTIQ is not a basic stick battery. Your cart sits hidden inside an anodized aluminum body, and vapor travels through a long cooling airpath before it reaches you. DaVinci says that path makes the vapor up to 90% cooler, which is why it feels smoother than a cart on a standard pen.
Instead of bright lights it uses a subtle vibration (haptic) heartbeat for draws and alerts. Three heat modes cover flavor (2.8V), everyday hits (3.2V) and stronger sessions (3.6V), and the 760mAh battery is rated for roughly 500 to 700 draws, with USB-C pass-through charging so you can use it while it charges.
“It felt like opening an Apple product.”
— Jennifer, Customer Service, City Vaporizer
Jennifer owns an ARTIQ and loves it. She is always out picking up new 510 carts for it, and says the fit and finish is top notch and it feels premium in the hand.
Best for: Anyone using 1G or 2G carts who wants a big battery and full control
The Veil Bar Pro EVO hides your cart inside a palm-sized body and fits carts up to 14.5mm wide and 62mm tall, including 2G sizes. It fires the moment you inhale, so there is no button to hold.
A full-color display shows your exact voltage, battery percentage, a puff counter and preheat status. Voltage runs from 1.8V to 4.2V in 0.1V steps, and an included wax atomizer lets it double as a concentrate vape.

Best for: People who switch between different cart brands and sizes
The UNI line is known for one thing: an adjustable chamber that fits almost any cart, from long and thin to short and wide, up to 16mm across. The 3.0 Plus adds the biggest battery in this guide at 1100mAh, a solid zinc alloy body and a 1.93-inch animated display.
Voltage adjusts from 1.8V to 4.2V in 0.1V steps, and a 10-second preheat helps with thick oil. It is rated 5 out of 5 by customers on our site.

Best for: A small, simple battery with real voltage choices, especially for live resin and flavor
The Egg is a small, pocket-friendly 510 battery with five voltage settings from 2.4V to 4.0V, each shown by a different LED color. The low 2.4V starting point is good for terpene-rich carts where flavor matters most.
Single-button control keeps it simple, it charges by USB-C, and Lookah says it works with both oil and wax carts. It is rated 5 out of 5 by customers on our site.

Best for: A cheap and cheerful auto-draw battery with a screen
For very little money, the Interactive gives you features usually found on pricier batteries: a digital screen, three voltage settings, preheat for thick oil and USB-C charging. It is auto-draw, so you just inhale.
It fits most 510 carts up to 16mm wide and 58mm tall, and it comes in more than one color.

Best for: Running two carts at once, or keeping two flavors ready
The Canndual Extreme holds two 510 carts at the same time and conceals them in a compact, rugged body. You can run one cart or both together.
A 900mAh battery, adjustable voltage, a 12-second preheat and a digital display round it out.
| Setting | Voltage | Best for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 1.8–2.8V | Live resin, thin oils, flavor | Smooth, tasty hits; longest battery life |
| Medium | 3.0–3.4V | Most carts, everyday use | Balanced flavor and vapor |
| High | 3.6–4.2V | Thick oil, bigger hits | More vapor; can taste harsh if too high |
Always start low and turn it up gradually. If a hit tastes burnt, lower the voltage right away.
These devices are built for concentrates, but each lists 510 compatibility on its product page, so you can use one device for wax and carts. Check the product page for which carts fit before you buy.

It depends on your carts and budget. Our premium pick is the DaVinci ARTIQ for its build quality and cooler vapor. The Cartisan Veil Bar Pro EVO is best for big 1G and 2G carts, the Yocan UNI 3.0 Plus fits almost any cart size, the Lookah Egg is the best compact choice, and the HoneyStick Interactive is the best budget battery.
A cart battery is the same thing as a 510 thread battery. For most people we recommend a battery with variable voltage and preheat, like the Cartisan Veil Bar Pro EVO or the Yocan UNI 3.0 Plus. If you want something premium and discreet, choose the DaVinci ARTIQ; if you want to spend as little as possible, the HoneyStick Interactive is a strong pick.
510 is the industry-standard screw connection used by most oil cartridges and vape batteries. Because almost every brand uses it, a 510 battery works with most carts on the market. A few brands use their own proprietary pods or connections instead.
The thread fits, but the body of the cart may not. Pen-style batteries take almost any cart. Concealed or box-style batteries have a size limit: the DaVinci ARTIQ fits carts up to about 11.5mm wide, the Cartisan Veil Bar Pro EVO up to 14.5mm wide and 62mm tall, and the Yocan UNI 3.0 Plus up to 16mm wide with an adjustable chamber. Check your cart’s size before you buy.
Start low and work up. Around 1.8V to 2.8V gives the most flavor and is best for live resin and thinner oils. Around 3.0V to 3.4V is a balanced everyday setting. 3.6V and above gives bigger hits and helps thick oil, but can taste harsh or burnt if it is too high for your cart.
Auto-draw batteries fire when you inhale, so they are simple and discreet. Button batteries fire only when you press, which gives more control and usually unlocks voltage settings and preheat. Some, like the HoneyStick Twist, do both.
Preheat runs the battery at low power for several seconds to warm thick oil before you draw. It helps prevent clogs and gives a smoother first hit, especially in cold weather.
Blinking is how most 510 batteries report a problem. It usually means the battery needs charging, the cart is not making good contact, or the battery detected a short circuit. Charge it, clean the 510 connection with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol, and make sure the cart is screwed on snugly but not overtightened. Check your battery’s manual for its exact blink codes.
Use your battery’s preheat function, or warm the cart in your hand for a minute, then take a gentle draw without firing to clear the airway. Storing carts upright also helps prevent clogs and leaks.
Per charge, it depends on capacity and voltage: a 350mAh battery like the Lookah Egg suits lighter use, while 900mAh to 1100mAh batteries like the Elf Canndual Extreme, Cartisan Veil Bar Pro EVO and Yocan UNI 3.0 Plus last much longer. Lower voltage settings also stretch battery life.
Yes, with the right attachment. Some batteries include one, like the Cartisan Veil Bar Pro EVO’s wax atomizer, and dab pens like the HoneyStick Pocket Plasma or Lookah Seahorse Max run both concentrates and 510 carts.
Budget batteries like the HoneyStick Interactive ($9.99) cost very little. Mid-range picks like the Cartisan Veil Bar Pro EVO ($26.99) and Yocan UNI 3.0 Plus ($37.95) add bigger batteries and more control, and the premium DaVinci ARTIQ ($59.99) adds a concealed, cooling design. Prices on this page are live USD prices.
Not sure where to start? The DaVinci ARTIQ is our premium pick, the Cartisan Veil Bar Pro EVO handles the biggest carts, and the HoneyStick Interactive is the best way to spend very little.
