Setting up the Arizer XQ2 Dry Herb Vaporizer

The XQ2 is a dry herb multi-use desktop vaporizer that offers two different delivery methods: via a whip or balloon, similar to the Volcano hybrid vaporizer.

Using the Whip

• Attach the connoisseur bowl to the heater – and pack it with your herb.
• Select your temperature and wait 1-2 minutes for the device to heat the bowl to that set temperature.
• Let your herb sit an additional 3-5 minutes at the selected temperature, for even and full heating of all the material.
• To take a hit, place the top of the whip connection onto the bowl and take a long and consistent draw through the glass mouthpiece.

Use the XQ2’s Whip attachment for direct draw, or optionally use the 3-speed Fan for an assisted draw. The fan will push vapor out of the whip, making inhalation effortless.

Using the balloon

To use the balloon, follow the first steps as above, but instead of waiting for the heating to finish, attach the balloon to the bowl as it’s climbing up to temperature. Once heated, turn on the fan to fill the balloon. When it’s full, simply detach and seal the balloon and draw from the mouthpiece. 

With the balloon system, you also have the option to use the Mini Whip and Collection bags. Use the easy balloon system to fill balloons with vapor the way you want. This is great for high volume use, sharing quality vapor with others, and to take with you! You can always alter the bag/balloon size to fit your needs.

Arizer XQ2 vs Extreme Q Review

Let’s start with what is the same. Both have the same temperatures range, balloon and whip delivery system, and have the same approximate size. The XQ2 has more features than the Extreme Q does.

The XQ2 has a better interface, a clearer brighter, higher resolution LCD screen. It also features a dedicated fan speed control button: this button allows for direct control of the rate at which the XQ2 fills up the bag when vaping in bag mode, and can also be used to switch the fan off to preheat the dry herb before starting a session. The fan is more quiet and filters more efficiently, and does not create extra noise.

The XQ2 now comes with a mouthpiece cover for sealing the bag after use, so you don’t have block the mouthpiece with your thumb anymore. This small but important feature makes using the XQ2 with bags so much easier. We highly recommend this new feature to anyone who still uses bags with the Extreme Q. With the XQ2, you have options to take a hit and then seal the bag for later.

The Extreme Q vaporizer comes equipped with a unique Cyclone Bowl, a glass adapter that features a stainless steel screen in its center. This design allows for an even bowl size, no matter which end you choose to fill with herbs. The XQ2, on the other hand, boasts a different approach with its two connoisseur bowls. These bowls feature a glass screen that is situated closer to one end of the adapter.

This design allows for more versatility in terms of capacity. Using the bowl with the screen in the lower position, you have a Cloud Bowl that can easily hold a large amount of herbs, up to a third of a gram or more.

However, by flipping the bowl over, the screen will now be in the upper position, and it becomes a Flavor Bowl that can hold a smaller amount of herbs, around 0.2 grams. These two bowls are good options for both those looking for big clouds and those who want to enjoy the flavor.

In terms of build quality, the XQ2 has a more modern and sleek design than the Extreme Q. The XQ2 features a RGB LED strip at the base of the unit, which not only adds to the aesthetics but also is a effective way of showing the vaporizer’s status to the user. It is made with quality materials, including a stainless steel exterior and a ceramic heating element that is durable and long-lasting. It features full convection heating, excellent heat up time, and the glass parts fit well, as with any Arizer device. Arizer introduced a new a new LED screen, an RGB indicator, and new remote controls, and new XQ2 Bag system that is more user-friendly.

It’s great how the accessories for both the Extreme Q and XQ2 are interchangeable, except the remote. Arizer Extreme Q items will fit and work on the XQ2 and vice versa. The XQ2’s balloon and glass bowl items are an big upgrade over ones for the Extreme Q, so it’s recommended to purchase XQ2 accessories as replacements for the Extreme Q ones. What is about the same quality is the silicone whip attachment with dome screen, glass balloon mouthpieces, aroma dish, power adapter, and glass mini whip,.

While the Extreme Q is still a great option for those on a tight budget, the XQ2 offers more value for the small price difference. If you search for the Arizer XQ2 amazon, you will not find it at the same price as the Extreme Q. But we think the extra $50 is worth it because of all of the great upgrades that the XQ2 includes.
