510 Battery: A Beginner’s Guide

What is a 510 Battery?

A 510-thread battery serves as a type of battery that users can use with 510 vape cartridges. The battery heats the substance inside the cartridge for inhalation.

Many types of these vape batteries exist. The pen style was the first one created. Now, we have concealer batteries and multi-use batteries.

For example, some 510 batteries can also work as dab pens. Even batteries can play music. Some batteries come in fun shapes and modern designs. We will get into the different types of 510 batteries further in the article.

Why is it called a 510 Thread Battery?

Ten threads (the ridges you see inside the battery) are 5mm apart from each other, hence the name!

People call it a 510 Battery because of how the cartridge connects to it. The cartridge holds the substance you inhale.

If you look at the top of a 510 battery, you will notice a spot that appears designed for something to screw on. You will see the “threads” inside. Take your cartridge and screw it onto the 510 battery.

Benefits of Each 510 Style

Battery Type Key Features Best For
Pen Style Classic design, simple to use Beginners, basic vaping needs
Concealer Compact, hides cartridge inside Discreet use, portability
Multi-Use Supports different cartridges and uses Versatility, experienced users
Auto-Draw No buttons, activate on inhale Convenience, hands-free operation
Variable Voltage Adjustable temperature settings Customizable vaping experience

How Do I Use a 510 Battery?

To use a 510 battery, you need two other components: a 510 cartridge and a charger for the 510 battery.

The type of charger used for the 510 battery depends on the brand. To charge the battery, screw it onto the charger like you would with a cartridge. Then, plug the other end, usually a USB, into your computer or charging brick.

Some have other chargers, including USB-C or dock charging. If you are using a standard pen-style 510 battery, you will notice the bottom of the battery or a button. Some batteries are automatic and do not need a button. When you inhale, they will draw the vapor.

When your 510 battery reaches a full charge (please read the user manual to learn when), you can screw in your 510 cartridge. After you screw it on, read the instructions on how to operate. Typically, there is one button on the device to turn it on. Sometimes, there are two more buttons to adjust the temperature.

Variable Voltage and Temperature

If you use an auto-draw battery, you only need to inhale. The battery will turn on and heat automatically, without pressing a button. The battery life can last a long time because there is a limit on the power and heat settings.

If there is one button, this usually turns the device on and off and changes the temperature to one of three heat settings. Most 510 batteries will have a colored light that reflects the temperature. Red is often the highest temperature, followed by blue, then the lowest temperature is usually white or green.

If your battery has more than one button, these buttons are most likely for voltage settings. A battery with one button is for fixed temperatures you cannot adjust. These batteries offer a custom vaping experience as opposed to standard temperatures

Remember to start at a low temperature and go slow! Start at the lowest temperature, indicated by a “-“symbol on the button. The “+” symbol on the other button will raise the temperature.

Increase the temperature by clicking the “+” button once and hit it. Repeat this until you find the best temperature for your cartridge.

Who should use a 510?

They offer a simple way to use concentrates and extracts.

You don’t need any tools to enjoy the use of a 510 cartridge system. With only two major parts (the battery and the cartridge) these batteries are an easy way to use concentrates. You won’t need to clean an electric rig or load in the product.

Where and When to Use a 510?

You can use a 510 battery both indoors and outdoors. They are a portable way to consume concentrates.

Avoid extreme temperatures which can drain the battery’s power. They can also cause serious injury, especially in hot weather.

Why use a 510?

You need a 510 battery to heat and use 510 cartridges. A great way to take your concentrates with you and consume them on the go without combustion or the use of fire tools exists. A 510 is a great beginner’s device for a vape pen.
